Resetting your existing password

Multi-Factor Authentication

1stDibs uses a combination of security measures to keep our customers' accounts safe, including methods for detecting legitimate web traffic. In some cases, you may be prompted to provide an additional authentication factor.

When this happens, we will automatically send a verification code to the email address associated with your account. To login, simply copy the verification code from your email into the login challenge prompt. If you do not receive a verification code, try logging in again, ensuring that you are using the correct password. You may also choose to change your password.

Choosing a Secure Password

When registering for an account, logging in, or updating your password, your password must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 8 characters
  • At least 1 number or special character
  • At least 1 letter

As part of our commitment to keeping users safe, 1stDibs securely checks an encrypted version of the username and password combination that you submit against lists of suspected compromised credentials. If your username and password appear to be compromised, we will ask you to create a new password.
